HOW I GOT HERE
A passion for music re-ignited
I started my musical journey with the organ while in primary school, but first picked up a flute at the age of 10. I loved it immediately and worked my way through the ABRSM grades to grade 8, by which time career planning took priority. I pursued a successful legal career alongside bringing up my children, but continued playing the flute in orchestras and chamber groups, wishing I could devote more time to it. Finally, I realised that if music was where my heart really lay, then I could and should pursue my dream. So, I left the legal world to re-immerse myself in music, studying for the Music A-Level that I'd always wished I had pursued, and returning to piano and flute practice in earnest. Studying with Atarah Ben-Tovim MBE took my playing to another level and I now spend my time practising, performing, and teaching and I love every single minute of it all.
